We are a social enterprise* creating eco-soy scented candles and reed diffusers. All of our products are handmade in London and vegan friendly. We founded LUX LUZ in response to the unacceptable fact that more than 1 in 4 women in the UK are affected by domestic violence in their lifetime .
Our candles help you to be kind to yourself, to others and to the environment:
Be kind to yourself - self care
Self-care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health . This has never been more important than during 2020 to help us all cope with the coronavirus pandemic. Our candles are the perfect companion for a cosy evening at home to help you care for yourself and be kind to yourself.
Be kind to others - self care that gives back
Sadly cosy evenings at home are the opposite of relaxing for the 1 in 4 woman in the UK affected by domestic violence during their lifetime. We are a social enterprise so the profits from our candles and reed diffusers support the increasing number of women who find themselves living in terrifying conditions. We fund emergency nights in refuges and longer term recovery activities, such as art therapy workshops, to support survivors of domestic violence to begin to heal from the trauma of abuse and rediscover themselves and their confidence. 100% of our profits are given to projects supporting women affected by domestic violence or reinvested in the business and we are a certified member of Social Enterprise UK.
Be kind to the environment - responsible self care
Our candles are made from sustainably farmed eco-soy wax. Eco-soy is produced from the oil obtained from soya beans, which is then purified and solidified into a wax, as a result it is fully biodegradable and contains no pesticides or herbicides. All of our candles and diffusers are vegan friendly and our glass jars and alumnium lids are recyclable.

*What is a social enterprise? Social enterprises are businesses that are set up to change the world. Like traditional businesses, they aim to make a profit but it is what they do with their profits that sets them apart – reinvesting or donating them to create positive social change .
